As an esthetician and editor, my nails take a beating. Which is why I rarely, if ever, get manicures. And if I do splurge (you know, when it’s a combo deal with a pedicure), I usually get a super pale pink or white color. Nothing snazzy. I know it will dent, peel, and chip within days. But I do think it looks better to have a little something on my bare nails, especially when seeing clients or the odd time when my hands might appear in a photo shoot at the magazine. This is why I have been so happy to discover Nic’s Sticks by OPI through some free samples sent to my work. They harken back to ’80s nail pens, but they work way better: You just pump the end, the polish comes out onto the brush, and then you apply. OK, I admit they’re not green, but they’re pretty awesome. I literally have one in my desk drawer (my cube neighbors probably hate me). You can get them everywhere: drugstores, beauty superstores. They have lots of colors, including my pale preferences, but my fave is the Brighten Up! Nail Brightener, which refreshes dull looking nails (hello, mine!).
