I’ve recently started going to the acupuncturist again after a long hiatus (more than 20 years!). I feel like it’s probably had a good influence on my skin, since it’s helping me relax and stay balanced. And spending 40 minutes resting each week with no demands on my time, as is required after each application of needles, has to be good, right? Still, I hadn’t considered that acupuncture could have a direct effect on the aging process, but according to the Bay Area acupuncturists in this video from KGO’s View from the Bay, a series of 14 regular treatments, combined in some cases with other lifestyle changes, can shave 5 to 10 years off your face. Even better, the treatment is totally natural…and they say it’s better not to do it with Botox or other cosmetic work! I like that: Skip the injections, and go for another kind of needle. The ideal age to start? 35. Hmm… I might have just thought of what I’d like for my next birthday. I wonder if the ladies at San Francisco Community Acupuncture, where I get treatments, have considered training in this?
